Saw a like-student-yah today wearing breeks with different coloured legs. Made me wonder why we don't see more. Is there anything aesthetically wrong with wearing clothes with differently coloured legs or sleeves?

Billy Connolly, Robin Williams and the wonderful Tommy Cooper.
Two Blondes waked into a building, you'd have thought at least one of them would have seen it.
Parti-coloured clothing is really nice, especially if you can get a cap with bells to go with it.
as in a court jester...
exactly - we used to call it Motley, as loved by jesters!

I wouldn't mind having knickers with FRONT written on them....

I once went to a "black and white" fancy dress party with one white leg and one black leg tights (cut leg off each and wore together) did same with tee shirt, cut two skirts up and sewed back together with black one side, white the other, and found a fab wig black one side, white the other. It made me feel quite peculiar all night every time I glanced down!

I have 50 odd socks , not a pair among them .
Once I made a theatrical costume for a friend - for a very symbolic play. All the evil characters wore black, the goodies wore white, but this friend was ambiguous, so I made his costume of pied motley - black and white, one trouser leg white the other black, one sleeve black, half the front of the jacket white etc etc - you get the idea. He wore it to parties and it started a fashion.
That was not in the UK, by the way, in case you were wondering how you missed that particular trend
