What is the easiest way to do this? I usually save my pics to my external NAS via my laptop but this time I want to put them onto my ipad so that I can bring them to a family member to show them.

I have tried bluetooth between the laptop and the ipad but cant get it to work. I have attached a cable from the laptop to the ipad but that doesn't seem to work either.

I'm looking for the easiest possible way and nothing too technical if possible.

Thanks.

A couple of options:

First involves purchase of a transfer unit that connects to the iPad:

Second, via iTunes, which wont cost anything other than download and install of iTunes on PC:

Send yourself an email from your laptop with the photo as an attachment and then save on your ipad.

Thanks but there are hundreds of pics as well as videos Sycamore so I don't think emailing them is ideal.

pinky - i think itunes might be what I should do. I already have it loaded onto my laptop for my iphone. I have now saved the pics and vids to my external drive so should I still be able to copy/move them over onto the ipad?
Try the following:

To transfer photos from your computer to your iPad via iTunes and assuming you have an appropriate Apple Ipad Data / USB cable, connect your iPad to the computer with the data / usb cable.

- Launch iTunes on the PC and click on the iPad icon from under 'Devices'.
- Click on the Photos tab, and check the box "Synch photos from."
- Click "Choose folder" from the drop-down menu, and select your picture folder. Now that the folder is on iTunes, you can select the photos you want to transfer to your iPad, or transfer them all.
- Finally, click the Synch/Apply button at the bottom right of the page. The pictures will transfer to your computer.

Hope that works for you!

Thanks for all those directions pinky. I have had to reinstall itunes but I think I have done that successfully now - eventually!
I have followed your instructions and everything looks as if it is going ok but then I get a message saying the the pics and vids "could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish".
I have tried it a couple of times but keep getting the same message. Any idea what I need to do?
Thanks.
Use Dropbox.com its free.
