I don't know if there is a difference but I would hazard a guess that 1989 is when Deels became popular on our TV screens so maybe the book was re-issued.

On a very sad note when my now teenage son was a toddler he used to think when Delia on the telly it was me! Slightly better than being compared to Fanny Cradock I suppose! When they show her old shows on Saturday Kitchen I hear "Mum, you're on the telly" Doesn't happen when Nigella's on!
