Just got into the curling where GB are competing and they swap to speed skating where we have no interest. Stoopid or what?

Don't panic. I've found the red button.
Pretty tight fisted of the Beeb not to put some more clean HD streams onto Sky/Freesat.

They did it for the 2012 games, but the only HD coverage for Sochi is on the main BBC1/2 channels or online (unless you have one of a very limited number of new samsung/sony TVs with the experimental Connected Red Button system).
My Sony has the red button, I use it during Wimbledon...........

All sets have the existing 'red button' service - but you only get SD coverage - which looks distinctly crap on a big screen.

There is a new, extended 'connected red button' HD facility being developed and trialled during the Sochi games - but you currently need one of a new range of Smart TVs to get it.
