No that's not true with modern techniques it would not be difficult.

However economically it might not be possible. I can think of few countries that could afford to build such a monument and those that could afford it wouldn't get away with the cost to the monument to a single man.

I'd guess Chairman Mao was probably the last person who might have had the ability to build a pyramid.

As Jake says, they could be built but to the same spec would be prohibitively expensive, all that stone etc etc.

No. Today's technology encompasses and includes the technology of the time when it was built.

I thought they were built by alien humanoids not of this Earth, whose technology was more advanced than ours. Or did they only play around in Peru?

The thing that makes the pyramids architecture do memorable, apart from the massive size, is that appearntly the angles which make up the base are correct to very small fractions of a degree, and the lengths of each side vary only a tiny amount. The stonemasons must have had incredible skill with pretty primitive tools and measuring equipment.

A more interesting question would be....could it be done today using the SAME technology (practical aspects like time, cost etc not withstanding)....and the answer would be a big fat NO!

It's still a mystery how the massive granite slabs forming the roof of the gallery were placed.

The way this gallery was constructed would have meant that there was very little room for the workers to actually get in there to place them in situ...and they weigh in excess of 50 tons!

EDDIE51..forgive my ignorance, but why would it take so long now? Aren't there more ways of getting the blocks in place, hoisting them up high (i.e using cranes), project management etc? Clearly I have never seen them in real-life!

According to the Bible chronology, People back then were closer to 'perfection' than we are today, and therefore could have been more intelligent. Genesis chapter five tells of extremely long lifespans. Al;mighty God in his wisdom has the ability to release knowledge to us when we are able to handle it. It would explain why some men have ' brainstorms' and invent things. The pyramids required extreme care with mathematics. And patience. We today lack this and everything has to be done in a rush. Also it has been proved that they were built, not with slave labour, but with religious zeal. Labourers considered it a privilege to work on the pyramid, for their king, in the off growing season, when the Nile flooded. And there is a theory that the majority of the limestone block construction was moulded in-situ, onsite, eliminating long distance carting of blocks for 90 plus percent of the volume. Only the granite was brought from a distance. The 'rest' was carted into place in baskets, then moulded into blocks which set in place. As I said, a theory, but plausible,
