Bernie6969 - That was not the saddest day for me because my son was born on 19 Feb 1985 at precisely 19.30.That was precisely the date and time Eastenders started.

BTW - we both cant stand it but - I threatened him I would get in touch with them when they and him were having their 21st birthday ( I'm one of those irritating mothers whose children only tolerate them) but he said he would just say he preferred Corrie.

When Clan Royal was run out by two loose horses at second Becher's in last year's Grand National. It cost me a packet.

With you sickofmorons about those planks who kept putting flowers up against some railings somewhere after Di died. She should have been wearing a seat belt, anyway. I always do.
Harry - pity!
Warning my post contains a Spoiler for UK Home& Away viewers.
The saddest thing I've ever watched on TV is the episode (due to show in UK in a few months'' time) of H&A where Flynn dies. I always cry at anything sad on TV but I was amazed just how much I cried at this. I even had to pause the episode halfway through cause 1 bit was so sad. The whole episode is taken up with the family saying goodbye to him :'(

Coronation Street.

When Hilda received the parcel from the hospital containing Stan's clothes. She'd been very stoic up to then but as she sat alone in the front room she undid the string and opened up the parcel and took out his dressing gown, she paused, and opened up his glasses case and took out his specs. The very thing that Stan saw his world with, and the world he shared with Hilda. That's when she finally broke down and cried. The credits then rolled silently up.

Currently the Mike Baldwin storyline on Coronation Street. Very moving indeed.

The saddest moment on TV is different for everyone. It's whatever pushes buttons in you. Diana's funeral I thought was sad but when her brother spoke of their childhoods together, I did cry. But I have to say the images that stick in my mind are those of 1989 when the first pictures were shown of the children languishing in Romania's forgotten orphanages. Also a documentary about unwanted baby girls abandoned in China. I cried at both programmes,

saddest moment on TV was when after sitting through 13 episodes of some american drivel about passengers in a plane some stupid outsized albino bear and their past lives, in the last episode they just went down a hole and nones the wiser. what a waste of time.
To lighten the mood, probably any time dennis norden makes yet another so called 'laughter file' or 'it'll be alright on the night'. Dispicable scenes. Very distressing too.
The day Justin Lee Collins made his first appearance.
finisterre- Brilliant! I couldn't agree more. He really is a bearded Cornish Twaat
