It was Canada he went to. Corrie are filming scenes for screening in April, right now, so he won't be on for a good while yet.

SPOILER ALERT - MAYBE; read in this morning's Mirror that he could return as part of the storyline surrounding Tina's murder.

"His absence in the soap has been explained by a trip to Canada to care for his sick grandson, Adam. Ken's son Peter, his wife Carla and barmaid Tina McIntyre become involved in a love triangle that will end with Tina's murder in the summer. That could give scriptwriters the chance to return Kenfrom abroad to deal with the aftermath of the tragedy."
