A Busy Day Can Take Your Mind Off Sorrow........
11 Answers
I hardly slept last night. Today would have been my sons birthday. I got up this morning feeling really down. Made a drink and took it to Mic, he was breathing really bad (COPD). Called the Doc. She arrived, then the district nurse, then the carers. By noon I realised that because of Mic everything else had gone by the by. I started to feel guilty then gave my self a good shake. Life is for the living. I know my lad would not want me to neglect Mic because I was too busy grieving for him.
A foot note to this... Lloyds chemist have been the most helpful of anyone I have dealt with. When the Doc left a 'script' with me they came to the house picked it up and delivered it back to me within half an hour. I intend to say the same to the said chemist. Thank you Lloyds.

I sit him up as much as possible to try and alleviate his infections. I feed him high protein full fat diet and his pressure sores are much improved since he came home.
It's a good job I'm not (that) house proud as most of my time is spent washing, ironing, cooking and taking care of him.

my heart goes out to you Jeza, I know exactly what you re going thru, make sure you also get proper meals and take care of yourself too, nice to have good back up like Lloyds. Your lad would be very proud of you for looking after his dad the way you do, dare I say to you when things get too much and believe me I know they can, put your coat on and take a short walk around the block or similar, I used to and it worked wonders.
