Syria is not a simple war between goodies and baddies. There are dozens of local warlords with their militias, some supporting the government, some supporting the main opposition, some attempting to impose an Islamist state and some just settling old scores. Atrocities are being committed by most of them - in particular the Syrian army. The sooner someone takes out Assad, the sooner we might get a lull in the fighting. Where are the drones when you need them?
...and if action against Assad had been taken earlier many of these issues might not now be.
Further evidence that intervention in Libya for example (of a different kind than that which might have been appropriate here) was probably wise, while the evidence of jihadists travelling to and from Britain proves that despite what some would like to think these conflicts ARE very much our business
