which of the following is the best place to get something peirced and why: (keep in mind health issues and the experience of the professinal, etc)

a. claire's           b. specialty shop

c. tattoo parlor   d. other

judging by the assisstant in claire's,I wouldn't go there, tattoo parlour or speciality shop is your best bet,Although I did "other" many years ago and pierced my own ears, hurts and I wouldn't reccommend it.

My mum got her ears re-pierced in Claires and the assistant was great and gave her tons of aftercare advice.

my bf (please dont laugh, i did) got his earpeirced at claires, and he had no problems at all, where as i went to a tattoo parlour for mine (thick bars) and hadno end of trouble.

A piercing shop every time.  They have the specialist knowledge and aftercare advice.

Definately a speciality piercing shop.  although the other places have trained people, they do not have the same knowledge as a professional piercer who only does piercing.  This is especially true if you want a piercing anywhere other than your ear.

I used to manage a Claires accessories, and although full training is given to all staff I would noot reccomend getting pierced in there unless you can get the manager to doit. Most of the staff are moronic part timers who dont care and are so scared of piercing that they more than often dont do the best job. Not always the case but I have had to resuce more piercings from half wots that I care to remember. Unfortunatley I didn't recruit my own staff!!

All my piercings were done in piercing shops, but bare inmind that they use a needle which is much more painful, and slower, than a gun.

tip:- always pay as much as you can afford and go for 24crt gold as opposed to gold plated. It is always worth the extra expense and a painfulpiercing is not fun.

P.S. I no longer work at the hell hole that is CA!!

I have few piercings i`d say tattoist or specialistI had my nose pierced in market (bad move) It was with a gun,and was too far forward near front of my nose,even though I marked were I wanted it.

Id stay clear of Claires Accesories(Who the hell is Claire!! lol) and go to specialist or tattooist,its ,more expensive--- But You Get What You Pay For

Always a speciality shop or tattoo parlour. If you go anywhere else then it is more than likely that they would pierce your ears with a gun which is completely unsafe. At a speciality shop or tattoo parlour you can ask to have your ears pierced with a needle, if they don't primarily use needles anyway. Self piercing isn't something that I'd recommend anyone do unless they know exactly what they're doing!
