Hi - As you know in XP, if you have a jpg called "folder", that will set the picture in thumbnail view. During a search, i accidently renamed hundreds of these jpg, now they are all called folder(1), folder(2), folder(3) etc... How can i rename them all to just folder without going through the whole lot? That would take me days! (And they are in seperate folders). Thanks, PM.

Probably too late now (if you have rebooted or done other stuff), but sometimes you can right-click and "undo rename".
I think "Irfanview" can do a "batch rename" and rename all of the files in a single folder in a certain way.
e.g. rename them all to image001.jpg, image002.jpg etc.
Can use bulk rename utility from here http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php

also recomend 1-4 rename
http://www.1-4a.com/rename/download.htm

run it in expert mode

System Restore to the day previous to the accident .
