Hen Party Ideas
58 Answers
Right, I have to organise a hen party. Let me make it VERY VERY clear what we will not be doing:-
silly head gear, L plates or fancy dress
taking off our clothes
watching men take off their clothes
going to pubs or clubs where you cant hear yourself think
drinking to excess
silly dares
making t*** of ourselves
So ideas, please. Number one idea so far is a spa day with a nice meal in the evening (and thanks to people who helped with that - you know who you are). Number two idea is a day at the races, but that is looking too be expensive.
I'd really like "the hen" to have a wonderful day to remember, but cant think beyond "spa day and nice meal". Age range is about 21 to 70. One of the 70 year olds has mobility issues so nothing too active. Average age is, ahem, about 40!
Georgraphically we are talking just South East of Manchester. (I've checked all the theatres and nothing really grabs me there, either).
Any ideas appreciated, please.

We hired the track so it was just us and no idiots with no consideration for nervous beginner karters like me :)
There is an indoor snow sports centre (Chill Factor E) which does skiing, snowboarding and other snow stuff and there's a climbing wall there. Good fun though if not a confident skier I'd recommend some taster lessons first - mainly group bookings, I booked one for my ex as he had never skied before.
If all else fails you can always call me to hide with an emergency glass of wine haha, I'm in South Manchester :) The ghost tours are a good laugh, I went on one years back with a guy, can't think of his name but he was hilarious, a bit tongue in cheek, he was all dressed up and everything! Lots of walking though.
One thing which is an idea to check is what is on the day you are out as certain places get very busy, when there are big name concerts on and football too with both City and United Games. Some nice bars like outside The Wellington/Oyster Bar get packed out as there is outside seating (and sometimes riot police!). Nice food in the Wellington, it's an old fashioned black and white pub they literally rebuilt bit by bit after the IRA bomb.

Damn BM - I thought it said " let me make it very very clear what we WILL be doing "
and I was going to add - paying the 70 y old to take her clothes off
or perhaps a public auction paying her NOT to take them off.
and of course that new fad - what;s it called - necrophilia !
whatever you decide - have a good time.....

I've just organised a hen "night" for a friend who is getting married in April. We are going for a half day falconry session followed by a pub lunch. (Is that the right word or should it be falconry-ing? Anyway we get to handle all sorts of birds of prey and then have a hunting session. The bride to be has no idea - we have told her she is going out for lunch but must wear old clothes and wellies. She is very worried)

There is Wild Wings if you like the falconry idea. There used be one in Worsley (posh bit of Salford) but it seems to have now moved towards Warrington way near a lovely garden centre (Bents).
