Thank you, that is really helpful. Fingers crossed our queue is as short!
We were advised to bypass the main queue by using the "underground" entrance in the shopping centre next door. It seemed to work as there was only one person in front of us and when we went in, we headed straight for "The Mona Lisa"- upshot was that we were first there and had the place to ourselves for at least ten minutes.

Brilliant We will definately try that! I have bought a 1 day pass, (for our non-louvre day!) and open bus tour, and Dinner Cruise. I will report back!

Au Revoir!

Another museum worth visiting, especially to see some recognisable Impressionist paintings, Van Gogh's etc is "The Musee d'Orsay", on the other bank of the Seine from the Louvre. Used to be a railway station, but now houses some incredible art- some reckon that it is even better than the Louvre in terms of quality of art on display.
