After last night's defeat Moyes says that he is to blame for it. "The players are hurt" but apparently none of them are responsible for the debacle. This seems to be the norm for a post-match interview - a win is down to the players but for a loss the manager is the sole culprit.

When was the last time a manager rightly apportioned some of the blame to the players and stayed in his job? Or does this happen often but I've simply failed to notice?

ManU are on a 'Liverpoolesque' slide into years of mediocrity They have 2 top players (Rooney, Van Persie) and one with potential to be one (Januzaj) but the rest are either past their best (Vidic, Ferdinand, Carrick, Evra) or are distinctly average (Smalling, Jones, Rafael, Cleverley, Young) Liverpool showed how long it takes to claw your way back towards...

hopefully people will notice that it is in a different topic
The blame game?

I think it's bibblebub's fault.
Can't say that I've ever noticed it happen ( blaming players ), I don't think that it will happen either probably for fearing criticism of his ( managers ) choice of the eleven players that failed to perform.

I see that Van Persie has already been whining to the Dutch media that other players are responsible for his poor showing.
Has he, bibblebub, so he's playing the blame game as well now.

Liverpool showed how long it takes to claw your way back towards the top, Utd will be the same

Similar thing in Italy, after years as top dogs both Milan teams are struggling recently
Oh dear, don't think that he will be a Man Utd player next season.
Apparently Van Persie has his own agenda

Priority no.1......World Cup finals

Priority no.2.......Man Utd

There's no i in team
Question Author
maybe the rumours about him returning to Arsenal will turn out to be accurate
Wouldn't it be nice if some English players could put the World Cup ahead of their domestic club too, joeluke.

The England team might not be so rubbish.
Not really JJ, Van Persie would do well to remember who pays his inflated salary
