I forgot to take it out of the freezer last night,removed it about 7 30 am this morning.I'm about to put it in the oven but it's still frozen in center. Will it be ok or must I wait untill it's fully defrosted.

can you defrost the brute in the microwave?

I don't like defrosting in the m/w but sometimes needs must and all that.

I wouldn't think twice about cooking it, maybe at a slightly lower heat and for a bit longer than normal.

Really it depends on the joint, shape, bone in etc.

Yes I could Alba but wasn't sure if that's ok with Pork.

Thank you all. Was not sure if it would be ok to use microwave to defrost Pork.
I'd go with Eccles, (should re-phrase)
wrap in tinfoil, lower oven temp and check every so often.

I like pork, Mr Alba isn't that keen so we seldom have it.

Are you doing crackling too?

Blimey not sure what happened above.lol
I've found that if you have a defrost setting on the m/w, it can start to cook the thing being defrosted, so I usually lessen that time.
ooh, the big block? Don't worry, happened to me once, was quite a surprise when my answer appeared! :-D

Yes Alba carn't have Pork without crackling.

What is your joint Whistonian? Is it a flat piece of belly or a dense leg or shoulder joint?
and what time would you like Eccles and I to arrive? :-) x

Should be ready for about 4.30 Alba. lol It,s Shoulder Eccles i have criss crossed the rine ,covered in rice oil and will add a little salt later,with regular basting of course. Have placed two extra place mats at the table.

Three it is MM,might be a bit of a stretch to go round,but eh who cares whilst the wine keeps flowing.lol
maybe this is too late for an answer for you - if it is still hard inside - steep it inside a basin of freezing cold water - after a while the ice will thaw.
