Tinypics has no way of knowing who you are. Unlike most photo-hosting websites, there's no registration process, so you don't need to give either your real name or a username (and your IP address isn't shown either - not that it really matters anyway, as it could only tell us which ISP you use, not who you are).
Excuse me for interrupting, Emmie. I just want to catch Chris, whilst he's around....Chris, I always get scared when I click on something like Tinypics and my documents are then shown in a window. I feel as if the site can then get access to all my stuff. Is that not the case, then? How does my stuff suddenly appear on the screen?
For Tilly2:
Clicking on something in a website like Tinypics simply opens Windows Explorer on your computer, so that you can find what you're looking for. No information is sent to the website until you select a file and click on 'Upload'. It's perfectly safe.
For Emmie:
There are lots of free photo-hosting sites. Tinypic is the most popular one for showing off pictures, simply because there's no registration process to go through. However it is limited to one image at a time whereas other photo-hosting websites allow you to create galleries and then link to the entire gallery.
Photobucket is one possibility:
