Mattress Toppers

I'm seriously thinking of buying a memory foam mattress topper - I know all the good reasons, but wonder if there are any downsides to them? Be glad to hear anyone's findings.

You can't wash them.

But... you can wash the covers.

We have two, here in the U.S.; one being considerably newer than the other. The newer one is noticeably cooler to sleep on (or other chosen activities) than the older one. Both, however, provide a better nights sleep than regular innerspring type matresses.

We have purchased a 'cool' mattress cover made especially for foam type mattresses and it does help with the older one.

I'ts a mattress topper,the washable bedding goes on top. When was the last time you washed a mattress for instance? As a" menopausal,bone thinning and causing pain just lying in bed" female...my sleeping life has been changed dramatically ,by a memory foam mattress!!No more towels to get a softer place in the bed! I can lie comfortably ,generally ,in any position i want:-) I'm in heaven now ...please do the good thing !!
