Vlc And Divx 10

I have both VLC and DIVX 10 installed on my laptop, will these two software clash when playing dvds or watching films ?

As long as you only use one program at a time there will be conflicts. Indeed, it makes sense to have several video players on your computer as codec problems sometimes mean that one player can't handle a particular video file, while another can. I'd always have both VLC and GOM on any computer:

Buenchico: Thanks for answering my question. When you say only use one programme at a time do you mean if I streaming a film only to open one window?. The Divx programme I installed was recommended by a friend http://www.divx.com/en/dwam,. I have never heard of Gom so I will give it a try.

I simply mean that it might be unwise to try to play one video file (whether saved on your hard drive or streamed from the web) in one player while simultaneously trying to play a different video file, in a second window, with a different video player. It's possible that they might send conflicting commands to your video card (although it's equally possible that it would actually work). U

Unless you're in the habit of (for example) watching Match of the Day with your left eye while simultaneously viewing Casualty with your right eye, the situation is extremely unlikely to arise anyway ;-)
