Odd Pointless Answer Tonight On Pointless. It Was What Are The Incredients In A Mock Turtle Soup.

From the start if that mixtures was put in front of you, you would not know what know what you are eating as they said the main incredient was ham then mushrooms,cayenne pepper.salt, mace, madiera, thyme
The main incredient of Mock Turtle soup are Calves head (sometimes Lamb but always a head,) then Veal Broth, Oyster, Onion , Brains and various Seasonings
These two recipes are complely different but Mock Turtle is always made wth a head.

BSE used to apply to Cow beef and not Calves or Lambs
where do you think that calves come from??????
The recipe was supposed to be from Mrs. Beeton's. However, I've Googled and can't find anything very similar.

There is certainly no ham or pork in a Mock Turtle soup
No calves have ever had BSE.. It only applies to the female of the species
