I am embarrassed to ask this - but, exactly how do you get books on a Kindle? I'm guessing you have to download books/reading material etc. on the Kindle.
And could one download and save books on a memory card and read it anytime, or must one be online to read books?
I have a Google Nexus but I am thinking of getting a Kindle for reading books since I enjoy reading very much. What do you all think, and suggest?

You may be able get a Kindle app for your Nexus (I've got one on my iPad) no need for an extra device then, Amazon just download the books to your device which is registered to them when you download the app.
Sorry, didn't fully answer your question, the books will sit on your device until you want to read them, they may also stay on your Amazon account until you download them but I'm not too sure about that.
