Jeza, I don't think it can get any worse, big hug.
Oh no, has your washing machine packed in?
Just a thought..... Disposable sheets, £16.50 for 50. Any help?

Jeza, you have to research ways to cut this down - the disposable sheets between Mic and the bedding are a start.

Why is the protection used failing so often? That needs to be addressed, laundry does increase but it should not get to that level sweetheart, ask ask and ask again for contact with a Continence advisor.

This time was always going to be hard for you but it should not be unbearable.

Nor do I sibs.
Washer/Dryer rocky. Loud bang then a kitchen full of smoke.
Maydup I will check those out.

I went to Currys website and chose a machine. Then rang their head office and pleaded my case. For an extra £30 they will deliver, install and take the old one away tomorrow. No time given just tomorrow. I just hope they don't let me down.
I am sorry, I totally missed the part re the washer breaking down, but my answer stands - hope you get your new one soon.

Mamya he has conveens fitted but he keeps pulling them off. I've begged and pleaded with him and he promises not to do it again but he always does. In hospital they fitted a catheter and he pulled that out too.
Jeza, I feel for you. I've been in the same situation three times & know exactly what you mean.

You do have somewhere to run - into your mind, where you can make private jokes about the situation. Make yourself laugh (inside) about all the stuff that's keeping you busier than you've ever been!

Remember all the love in your life & you'll get through it - I really wish you both all the best in such trying times. XX
Heartbreaking for you both am sure, I do understand.
He may struggle to articulate this to you but one problem with Conveens is the pulling the adhesive does on hairs, so it may be uncomfortable, if you can discuss this and look for another solution (not catheter) it may help.

Thank you L_I_K I'll try to practise that.

Mamya do you know of another solution. I'm already spending a fortune on pads.
Not off the top of my head no - my husband had bowel cancer and the resultant after problems so I know that whatever you do the washload will increase, large pharmacies are good sources of advice - Lloyds are excellent.
Oh Jeza, my heart breaks for you.

Have you had a chat with the local incontinence service, see if they have any suggestions? Convenes aren't the easiest things to keep on if not wanted.

The throwaway sheets could be a blessing, if nothing else just to reduce even a little bit of your stress and the amount of washing.

Is there any way you could use a laundry service, at least for some of your washing, maybe someone local who could collect and deliver for you? Even if they wouldn't deal with soiled bedding then maybe they could reduce some of the load by doing other washing?
Just thinking, does he have the plastic underwear you can get on over normal underwear/pads? Not quite as easy to remove and it might help reduce some of the impact on soiled bedding?
Do your local council provide a laundry service? they tend not to publicise them to keep take- up low
Jeza, I can't add anything practical, just good wishes and hope you enjoy a quiet b&c at some stage this evening ;x)
I hope you get your washing machine back soon! Although, you don't in homes for night, you could try the disposable pads that are elasticated like pants. They're about £1 each, so just use them at night. Even use two pads (a big nono in homes, don't tell ratter). Also a kylie (material) with a disposable bed pad on top should stop you needing to change the bed.
Feel free to email me if you want to rant/discuss anything. It's [email protected] (think you know) xx

Just popped back. Up to my eyes in it at the minute. Will come back later. Thanks for all the suggestions.
dear Jeza I have also been in your position, you can find these inco sheets on the net, they are square and go between the patient and bed sheet and do save the washing a bit. I also put a second one under the sheet next to mattress protector too. I hope this helps,I know just how you feel when it all gets on top of you and things don't go right, is there anything I can do to help ?
