Just wondering what the FQ stands for?

I've been told it stands for F*cking Quick, apparently Mitsubishi published that but i couldn't find anything about it. Can anyone confirm this or give me another answer.

Its highly unlikely that that is an official answer to the question, cant see Mitsubishi using language like that!, however, they would not come out and deny it either, as that sort of thing becomes an urban legend that Im sure they would love to have, unofficially, associated with their cars. In fact I dont think it actually stands for anything particular.

You are quite correct in what FQ stands for. The FQ series of Lancer Evo cars were developed in the UK for Ralliart. Ralliart is the company responsible for the suped up sports versions of Mitsubishi cars. Of course you will never see the meaning of FQ in anything official.

Because Japanese cars are not allowed to leave their factories with anything over 280bhp, the bhp addition on ones with more than this are done by seperate companies. As skids has already said, this conversion is done by Ralliart (in the UK, at the request of Mitshbishi - still a warranty).
And I am told that this definition is quite correct.

Oh, and Skids, I owned an FQ 340, and spoke to numerous people from Ralliart and Mitsibushi when fixing car (two centre diffs blew and replaced brain). Great car (when it was working) and it was (as the Ralliart guys said) F...ing Quick!
