Numbness And Dull Ache In My Right Arm.

I've had this for the last 3 days, also both of my arms feel very weak. Nothing seems to relieve the feeling. It's not painful as such, just a niggling feeling in all of my upper arm. I've been to the doctors today and they're referring me for blood tests and a shoulder ultra sound. Bit does anyone have any idea what this could be? I'm a major worrier and it's getting me down. I should be enjoying my time off with my little boy but instead all I'm doing is worrying. Please help x

He's almost 2 stone.. So quite heavy. As of today it's also started in my left arm too. Doc prescribed 600mg ibuprofen but they haven't done a thing.. I'm terrified it will be something sinister! :(

Perhaps you should see a Neurophysiologist for consideration of a nerve conduction study.

I'm wondering if you've just hurt the back of your neck/shoulders lifting him. It's very likely to be something like that, imo.

Doesn.t sound sinister to me and only 3 days of duration.
Probably a musculo skeletal problem e.g RSI and your HP has treated it accordingly.

I thought that also. But I'm turning into a 'worry about every little thing' person since my little one was born.. Weather it be me or my boy. I just can't help myself! I feel so foolish.. Could anyone tell me what the blood test is testing for? The doctor that saw me, well her English wasn't the clearest! So although I asked what it was for.. I couldn't understand x

My best guess.........to rule out a blood disorder and also a rheumatoid problem......both extremely unlikely.

I sometimes get a dull pain in the upper part of my my arm, a bit like a dead arm, and it comes from the nerves in my neck. A physiotherapist managed to ease it last time and gave me some stretches to do which seems to help when it starts up again.

I'm with Pixie on the lifting and carrying of a two stone child causing it.

It has started in my neck and upper back today.. As well as more in my left arm. I've also noticed I have no appetite and have lost a few pounds. Not sure if this is with worrying.. Advice? Really fed up :(

My advice hasn't changed.......stick with the painkillers until the blood tests and ultrasound are to hand.

I had similar problem with my right arm, and painful right shoulder for weeks. Guess what I discovered was causing that... tight bra strap. Yes, it came to mind to slacken/loosen the strap a bit. No more pain, the pain went away.

It's strange that it goes away in the evenings... I'm seeing a doctor again today. I think I may have some anxiety issues. Just sick of worrying about everything! :(
