I've been holding off on buying an MP3 player for a while, cos I've wanted something that will play all my DivX and .avi files also. I know the new ipods play MPeg4s and I've heard they come with software that will convert DivX & .avi amongst other things so it will play on the ipod. Can anyone confirm or deny this, and if it is true is it a hassle, or fairly simple? Also, does it allow you to use higher resolution files, as I heard it only plays video at 300x200(?)?
Your better off holding off on the ipod purchase for a little while longer. There is an extremely good chance that Apple is going to release a "propper" ipod video next month with a screen that covers the entire front of the ipod and a touch screen scroll wheel.
