I would like to provide a General Knowledge crossword for my free Parish Magazine. There are free crosswords that I can download but would there be any copyright problems with re-printing them?

are you just talking of the grid, or the words and clues too?
where are you downloading from?

Thanks black_cat51. I would be using the grid, clues and answers. As yet I haven't downloaded any but I have emailed Chambers Daily online Gk with this question because it is the one I prefer. I have had no response from them so far though.

That was helpful, thank you. So can you tell me how to find that info if I choose another site?
it was in the terms and conditions which (on that site) was on a small button at the bottom of the screen

Ok. Thanks for the help.
if you were to print it, as the magazine is a free parish magazine with a small circulation, the likelihood of the owners getting het up about it is quite remote. But it is very nice of you to ask them.

Thank you for the reply Mosaic. It would seem that it might be an option then as our circulation is tiny (600 copies). I had thought we should print their company as our source but would that be a good idea given black_cats answer from their T&Cs?
No expert in these things but given you are not making money from the act, it would seem unlikely folk would want to spend the money & effort to make you cease. Of course if this is church related you may have moral issues with it though :-)

Thanks Old_Geezer, I think you are right but you hear of so much daft litigation these days it made me unsure. I don't have a moral issue with it and will keep quiet in front of the vicar!
