I usually have no problem with this, but there are a few today that I can't figure out.
58a Go away and you sack the wrong person (straight clue: go away) The answer is obviously misfire but where does 'go away' fit in?
21a Vi and I are very young (straight clue: Number) Again, the answer is obviously seven but I can't see how they get to it.
31d Did paint work (straight clue: performed) Answer, acted. OK, but where does paint come into it?
49ac Home you can't stand to occupy (straight clue: main home) The answer can only be seat, I think, but I wouldn't call my home a seat unless I lived in a stately home!
Any explanations would be welcome, I feel as if I've completely lost it today!

Yes, I can see the cryptic clue for seat but think that the straightforward clue is a bit dubious. And they often have minor typing errors in the clues for this crossword - for example today, 32 down, massage given by young women - the answer is Ruby and the clue obviously should have read womAn not womEn, sometimes these typos are not so clear and rather misleading.
