In response to my question posted on 11th Feb regarding tracing the citation of a MC recipient, you kindly offered to help. I'm so sorry I didn't reply but a lot has happened in the meantime. If you are still willing, here are all the details I have.: Surname: Goodchild. MC awarded for action in France during WW1.

Also: Robert Relf. Awarded MM in Korea (1950s)

The barest of details, I know, and I don't hold out much hope, but many thanks for trying.

Cheers.

Hello Derekpara .................. do you have any initials for Goodchild, or a regiment .................. looking at the Medal Card Records juts for Goodchild from 1914-1920 gives 546 entries, so it's going to be impossible to uncover the correct Medal card is with some more details. Did he survive the war?

The Army Roll of Honor is the only record i can search and this is for 1939-1947 and these give the following Relfs:
Arthur A W Relf
Charles C T Relf
Harry HD Relf
Alexander A T R Relf
Horace H Relf

All of whom died in European campaigns apart from Alexander who was lost in Malaysia.

I cannot search (as far as I can see) any MM records specifically for the 1950s - but I do com across anything else I will post here.

Please let me know if you find forename(s) for Goodchild at all and I will glasly look again.

Thank you M-H.

I don't have an initial for Mr Goodchild ( who did survive the war) nor regiment etc. Bit of a hopeless task I think.

As for Relf, His first name was Robert and he definitely won his MM in Korea. I think his regiment was the Royal West Kents.

Thanks again.
I can only get as far as 1947 Medal Cards but using the regiment you gave for Robert Relf, I did turn up the following with is totally different, but may be of interest to use: http://www.roll-of-honour.com/Kent/Hawkhurst.html

Could we find an initial for Goodchild with a little family history delving? if you have any locations for him for 1911 we might be able to narrow it down etc .................. if so drop me an email at [email protected] and we will perhaps try another route??
