Lining Paper And Wallpaper Adhesive

We are considering lining our ceilings with some 4mm insulated lining paper. The same manufacturer recommends using their proprietary adhesive for the job.....
Unfortunately, this adhesive comes in 5kg tubs and they recommend using about 3.5kg per 10m roll....needless to say these tubs are very expensive, and the cost of the adhesive will be greater than the lining paper and emulsion to finish the job combined.

Would some Heavy Duty wallpaper paste (solvite, etc) be suitable to use instead, or does anyone have some other solution for us to consider?

Thanks.

I have used heavy duty paste in the past on insulated lining paper, jack, and it stayed up.

Thanks, Tony.

I rather thought it ought to but decided to check on here before I find myself in the dog-house.

:o)
Make sure that you mix the paste pretty thick though, jack.
I used fairly thick standard paste and it's still on ten years later
