I have always been quite happy with Google. However, the more I read about it the more I become concerned. It appears that it tracks all of one's movements and can even extract information from our individual Computers; personal information such as Bank details etc.

I hesitate to think what can happen if a corrupt employee of Google has access to such information.

if you don't want anyone to know where you searched use "epic privacy browser"
Hi, I'm new to this so please bare with me. i use Firefox and DuckDuckGo as both can be locked down tight and give very little away. Your choice ultimately comes down to what you wish to achieve and how savy you are.
well, I'm still using Google.....

@knockavacca....I would say that 'epic privacy, has merit as a Browser because it doesn't retain one's Browsing History. However, my concern is about Search Engines which in effect do so.

@treetops68....I think you are quite 'savy' because Duck Duck Go is deemed to be one of the best Search Engines. Another excellent one, with an unfortunate name, is Dogpile.

@boxtops....I have become very sceptical about anything connected with Google. In fact I have expelled Google Chrome as one of my alternative Browsers and am on the point of removing Google as the Search Engine on my Favourite Browser, which is Firefox. I think I might install Duck Duck Go on Firefox and put Dogpile onto that awful Internet Explorer.

I use Duck Duck Go on Firefox or Waterfox and don't have a problem with either.

Hi folks....Thanks for all your responses.

I have now set-up DuckDuckGo as the default Search Engine on my Firefox Browser and Dogpile on Internet Explorer. For the moment I have left Google on Safari.

Hopefully I have now cleared-out all of Google apart from what is left in Safari. It wasn't easy getting 'shot-of' Google Search because, as implied by Methyl.....Once Google has a foot in the door, it will do all it can to prevent one's removal of it.
