"Trend" are probably the best bet, Cods.

There aren't so many with a 3/8" or 8mm shank these days. The longer bits usually have a 1/2" shank simply for extra strength.

The alternative is to rout in two passes at different depths. If necessary, Trend can supply collet extensions with 8mm shanks. It does restrict you to a 1/4" collet and smaller routers for safety reasons.

If you only have a small job to do, it'll solve the problem.

Thanks for all your replies and as each of you have said getting 8mm shanks is very difficult without making some kind of compromise.
jomifl I looked at the site you mentioned I know that I didn't state how much longer I wanted but they were too long for comfort and SAFETY..A pro set-up maybe but not my diy one, thanks anyway.
