I get lots of spam about them but I delete them all without looking. But I may have a look next time as I'm curious as to what they are.
Yes, they do, sort of.

I managed successfully on them for a couple of months. I have however sadly, slid back into being a smoker again after a night of too many drinks :-(

Ha, don't know me very well then do you Trim? ;-)
my daughter has used them for ages and she gets them on prescription from the NHS stop-smoking clinic. seems to have worked for her fine and no problems that she's noticed. actually, I think she's sold the last box on ebay cos she didn't need them : (
Are you thinking of the inhaler thingy Dotty? As the E Cigarette is something entirely different.

I saw some in Tesco the other day and was tempted - they looked a fair bit better than normal cigarettes though, even superkings. A friend had one but gave up on it quite quickly.

I find the taste of a lot of NRT off putting though. I only smoke menthols, even find lights too much now, and a lot of the gum, mini mints and the inhalator are too much like normal cigarettes. I quit for a while on patches but they don't seem to work on me anymore (though maybe more the lack of the mindset I had when I quit then). Accupuncture just made me want a cigarette even more! I felt horrible afterwards.

I can't imagine now how I ever smoked full strength when I started.

I'm tempted to try hypnotherapy as it apparently has the best success rate.
I was wrong- I was thinking it was some sort of online 'smoking' experience!

They have worked for many smokers and are relatively safe, esp. in comparison to tobacco cigarettes. They have been recently featured in a New York Times article - http://www.allecigs.c...electronic-cigarettes

To quote the NY Times article: "No one knows exactly what long-term benefits they’d gain from e-cigarettes, but we can say one thing with confidence: Every time they light up a tobacco cigarette, they’d be better off vaping.”

Vaping refers to using electronic cigarettes - they emit water-based "vapor", instead of deadly tobacco smoke...
