need help with guitar.

I really want to get better at guitar both electric and acoustic as fast as possible, but don't want to be technicly flawed. Does anyone know any books or sites or ANY advice on how to get better and play like Joe Satriani as fast as humanily possible??

There is a big flaw in the logic of your question I am afraid.....you seem to be confusing being better at the guitar with being fast...they are not the same thing by a long stretch....I have seen satriani and while you can't fail to be impressed by the guy's talent after 15 minutes of endless widdling you're crying out for a half decent tune....I have played in a number of bands over the past few years and I have never tried to play fast just tunefully so I think the answers are, if you want to get faster then practice scales and modes for a couple of hours each day (you'll find loads of sites with these if you search on google)...however if you want to get better then listen to as many different styles of guitar players as you can from as many different genres and let them all influence you (try Gilmour - Pink Floyd, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Django Reinhardt, Roddy Frame...as many as you can get your hands on)

Why not check out 'Ards Guitar Festival' in Newtownards, N.Ireland in October. Tel.[phone]. It has the most amazing international performers line-up and workshops. At only �30.00 for a weekend ticket it is a real bargain. Why not book a cheap flight on the internet to Belfast, as Newtownards is only 15 mintes drive from Belfast city airport and it would be a guarenteed wonderful weekend for any guitar enthusiast. Belfast has got loads of wonderful hotels, B&Bs and restaurants, plus the locals are incredibly friendly!

If you don't already I would subscribe to one of the guitar mags - e.g Total Guitar or Guitar Techniques. The advantage over books/websites is that you get new songs and tutorials to learn every month - so just as you are getting bored you get something new and interesting to try. They cover all levels of competence and will include a whole range of different styles including classical, acoustic, rock, jazz and yes five finger tapping so you can sound like Satriani.
