Filezilla

My computer recently had to be taken away to resolve a number of problems. Windows XP has been updated to Windows 7. One new programme is quite beyond me - that is FileZilla FTP. I would like to further develop a modest website but cannot see how to upload to it. (I previously used Terrapin FTP, but understand it is not compatible with Windows 7). Does anyone use FileZilla and can perhaps tell me how they do it? Advice appreciated.
