There was an article in my paper today about sweets that used to be popular.
Fry's Five Centres, and chocolate Creams, Toffo etc, and the potato crisp with a blue salt bag inside!

What were those twigs of a branch called that you sucked and they went like a yellow mush, was it something like monkey sticks??

It all depends Tony
Depends on what, nungate ?.
It was liquorish root trt, better than the stuff sold today.
That's for me to know and you to merely wonder .......
[i]Gawd, I hate mysterious women ;-)[i].
Cabana and Aztec were my favourites. Years before that I used to buy 2oz of Horlicks (not tablets) in a twist of paper for 2d I loved it.
Ty for Cinder Toffee answer tonyav, yup that's it. Mam ate it when trying to give up smoking but it didn't replace the fags so she ended up addicted to both:)!
Oh one more for the group: Uncle Joe's Mint Balls (no double entendre jokes on those as that would be tasteless on this thread - pun intended).
