I suffer with tinnitus and my GP sent me for an MRI scan to try and identify a possible cause. I am going on holiday soon and want to know what I need to provide to get insurance as, although it is nothing life threatening I guess technically it is a pre-existing condition. Please advise the best course of action
Tinnitus is unlikely to present any problems. Simply ensure that you answer all of the questions honestly and you'll be covered.
This firm is offering me a full year's cover (for Europe) from just £25.99, at the age of 61, although I'll actually renew soon ('cos I used them last year) with their Premium policy at £30.58 (minus 5% loyalty bonus). Worth a look for you, perhaps?

Technically, I would argue that tinnitus isn't a "condition" ie an illness....it is a symptom. So (just as with any symptom eg headaches) I personally wouldn't volunteer any info about the tinnitus. After all, a surprisingly large number of people have tinnitus and travel without giving it a second thought.
i disagree with the last 2 answers. There will inevitibly be a question about whether you are seeing a docotor about anything, or waiting for diagnostic tests etc. It would be very silly to lie
As mentioned, if you want to be really honest, the medical declaration will ask you if you are awaiting any tests or treatment so I would mention it. It will almost certainly make no difference at all to the premium and you can discount it anyway.
