Programme has just finished. Anybody seen it. What is your opinion.

Mine - I am sad that EU has opened the doors to many scroungers whilst good people here have worked all their lives, paid their taxes etc and still have difficulty getting benefits.

Are the benefits people receive here much more generous than in other areas of the EU? Than in Germany, for example?

no sandy, some of our spongers have moved to Germany for better benefits and also because they don't get 'hassled' to find a job. I think people from new member states travel here because we're the only country that doesn't have systems in place to discourage them. And of course there's an army of do-gooders, bit like yourself, who actively help them to take us for every penny they can.
Can anyone explain why illegal immigrants risk live and limb and spend fortunes to 'escape' from mainland Europe and get to blighty.
and also, while we're on the subject, why are there so many Russians here.

Yeah I've heard of 'people smugglers' but the majority of immigrants who escape mainland Europe don't pay fortunes to get here
