and now you've gone and jinxed it!
Well done, I hope it continues well. I wish all machines were as good.
They don't make them like they used to.

I had a repairman out to mine today. The paddle from inside the drum had snapped off. I got the machine Dec 27th 2013!!

Repairman said 'it's just the way they're made now'

I suppose if we want cheap prices we need to accept cheaper parts.

yes maybe .... DOH !
You must have been lucky with the one you got as Candy is on the list of the 10 worst washing machines for reliability. I just found this as well
Exploding Candy & Hoover Washing Machines
In recent years there have been many documented examples of
Candy & Hoover washing machines (models with fast spin cycles) "Exploding".
They are so badly built - the fast spin-cycle is too much for them -
and they actually tear themselves apart!

i suppose depends when there were made , newer machines are fitted with cheaper flimsier parts , probably built in obsolescence....
And so it should. There ought to be a 25 year warranty !
SOME newer machines are built with flimsier parts...our two year old Miele has a full 10-year warranty and Miele build them to last over 20 years.
Downside...it DID cost just on a grand!
The reliability of domestic appliances can depend upon where they are made.
Candy is a privately owned company and its appliances are manufactured in Italy, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Russia, China, Turkey, Iran and Uzbekistan.
