cupid, I was just thinking of starting a thread on this myself ! I watched it and enjoyed it, but I wish they'd told us at the end why he killed her Mum. Was he having an affair with her, or what ?
Question Author
No they didn't really explain his motive, but he had been pervy towards other women.
If he killed her because she might make a complaint , then why did he not also kill the nurse he abused?
Question Author
He was disturbed by her flatmates return, danny.
But they worked in the same hospital so he had plenty of chances.
I wondered this too because at the very start her mum turned around and said hello as if she knew him. I was amazed at how he got away with it for so long.
She did know him, she'd been a patient of his during his brief stint as a locum gp. I think he was simply a pervy bloke who couldn't control his temper, and that perhaps he just happened upon the mum at the beauty spot, recognised her and tried his hand, as it appeared he did with women generally as he thought they found him irrestible. She repulsed his advances and so he bashed her on the head with a rock.
I really enjoyed the first episode, the second one could have been made more interesting though, it just kind of petered out...
I don't think he just happened upon the Mum, because as soon as she spoke to him, she then had a look of terror on her face, so I think the attack happened immediately as if he meant to kill her, still don't know why though.
A rather good drama spoiled by the unexplained reason for the murder.
The Mother was pregnant, perhaps it was his? He'd already re married and must have had a young family looking at the grown up boys age at the party.
Maybe he'd tried it on with her before, in his surgery or somewhere, and she'd turned him down, making him all the more mad and angry, and wanting to hurt her. I think she was seeing him as her gp because she was pregnant, not before, can't really remember all the details though.
See, we're all just surmising, so annoying that we didn't find out. I still enjoyed it though. Good acting.
I really enjoyed it but I too felt it stopped at the end rather than reaching a conclusion.
I agree....could have been tidied up better at the end.
Was distracted throughout though by the fact that Peter Firth is no longer a young man, + also trying to figure out if Christine Bottomley had had work done on her face,...her lips were definitely different ;)
Claire Goose looked a bit rough.
It was watchable ............ and enjoyable compared to lots of the rubbish on TV. It didn't explain anything to conclusion with regard to how Jane's mum knew her killer ........... and she clearly did from how she greeted him at the lakeside, there was no struggle or attempted assault, he just cracked her round the head with a rock immediately.

I knew how he had mismatched the blood DNA test having been a bone marrow donor - however, I believe, as routine, the police would have taken saliva also for exactly this reason (some organ transplants create chimeras too)

Decent acting though, wishy washy story. Billed as a thriller, it was not imho - who was the guy playing Jane's husband? I know him from somewhere else on TV ..............
Thanks Bathsheba ......... It's still puzzling me as he looks so familiar yet I have never watched anything mentioned on the link ...... perhaps I knew him in a previous life!
