Can I Rent A Tent For Business Congress?

Does anyone have experience with planning a business conference? I just started new and want my first conference to be planned really professional. I have read a lot about renting a tent for those occasions and found this provider that acutally looks alright: http://www.r-zs.com/ since the conference will be in Germany. Does anyone know them?

But what I am also unsure about is whether such tents are acutally professional enough or if you still have a.. i dont know... tent feeling while sitting in there? Are they comfortable... what about air condition, restrooms and so on? It would really be helpful if you could share some experiences with me...

Personally, I would hire a conference room in a building. Then you will have all the facilities you need.

Tell us why you are considering a tent over a conference building for your first event? Is there a reason?

I would avoid it myself. I think a tent is more appropriate for a summer party than a business conference.

If its cold weather it may cost a small fortune to heat a big marquee, toilets are also quite basic and can be very undignified!

Get it indoors, far more "the done thing" less problems all round!!

I have rented a marquee for a business buffet event but wouldn't dream of it for a conference, I'd rent a dedicated facility, part of a big hotel for example. If I was attending I'd be a bit peeved if I had to sit in a tent all day. I'd want easy access to the loos and especially not to be cold and to be on a comfy seat with table access. All difficult in a tent, not to mention the issues of getting power supply for presentations and IT hook-up for example.etc

Thanks for the quick answer everybody! The problem is, that I have not found an adequate room yet and thought that such a tent could be something new, different... And it does look pretty nice on the pictures... guess I have to acutally contact them and see how much it is...

I'm surprised you can find somewhere to put a tent and all the supporting catering and toilet facilities but not a building. However, if you have a beautiful setting, and can get over those service issues, and have a summer date, and have plenty of parking, and have heating and air con to suit the weather on the day, then go for it. Plan well and prepare for every eventuality.
