Edema & Waxing
24 Answers
Hi, I've had issues with edema in my legs for a while now, the kind where it dents when pressed. They get really dry and have reduced sensation in them.
I'm starting hydrotherapy soon so need to sort myself out for being in a swimming costume.
I find it difficult to bend much to be able to shave my legs myself well (especially with the risk of breaking the skin) and was thinking of getting them waxed. Had them waxed before some time ago but wanted to check how safe waxing would be with the edema.
Thanks for any help.

Have had much the same problems with the swelling etc. Have been using the stockings (knee highs actually) for about six months and they have helped me. What about a sensitive hair removal cream?
You should try a patch test first though, to be on the safe side

Given the mess I make of my face with any sort of razor (did you know you can hack lumps off yourself with a Philishave?) - I'd say "just don't".
As others have said, no one will be looking - they will all be too busy with their own treatment.
Best of luck & I hope the hydrotherapy works for you - I've seen the positive way you deal with all the aspects of your medical problems - no moaning, just getting on with your life - you deserve some good outcomes.
