Does anyone know the title of the Johnny Cash song played on the trailer for Prison Break, at 9pm tonight, just before film 'Anger Management ' started, only caught the last line of lyrics: "And anyway Iam not afraid to die", I say Johnny cash because his voice is so distinguishable, but it may not have been him, Thanks

Didn't see the trailer - but sounds like "The Mercy Seat" which is actually a cover of a Nick Cave song.

Part of the lyrics are;

And the mercy seat is waiting
And I think my head is burning
And in a way I'm yearning
To be done with all this weighing of the truth.
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth
And anyway I told the truth
And I'm not afraid to die.

An excellent song in the first place, but Cash's cover is very poignant.

Thanks brachiopod, I actually have 4 or 5 nick cave cds, I know The mercy Seat, but I didn't pick up on it being that, must go and listen again, perhaps it is Johnny's version of that, as you say his voice portrays such angst and their deliveries are so different, but both have the ability to make my eyes well up.(In a good way of course)
It sounds like "Hurt" his amazing cover of Nine Inch Nails song. If you ever get to see the video then make sue you have a big box of hankies.
Its definately Johnny Cash singing on the Prison Break advert. It was the last song he recorded before he died. (just saw a doco on Johnny the other night!)
i think it's hurt by johnny cash

Thanks to all who posted an answer, It wasn't "Hurt", I've got that on the album"American 1V: The Man comes around", Last album I believe he made, "Hurt Video" is on that, Whole album is covers, every one a gem. It was indeed "The Mercy Seat" Sublime voice, He will be sadly missed, brachiopod pointed me in the right direction, cheers!
Glad that's sorted ! It's on the American III album - listening to it now.
