the new offering on channel 4, did anyone watch, i did see the original Coen brothers film years ago, and wondered what to make of this. It is extremely violent i do know that, and Martin Freeman as the hapless salesman seems a strange choice. I love Billy Bob Thornton - he is evil incarnate in this
sorry i didn't think anyone had watched it, very dark, and had moments of a rather black comedy, i will watch again, but Martin Freeman has jumped out of his comfort zone, from Sherlock to Fargo..
I like to see Martin Freeman doing something different! Loved the film, and thought this first TV episode was very good.
Would have watched it for Billy Bob Thornton anyway, I think he's great.
its just so different for him, from Love Actually to Sherlock and now playing a mild mannered murderer. I didn't say he was bad, it was a shock seeing him out of type, so to speak
I thought it was very darkly comical or even comically dark and Freeman is just showing his versatility as a good actor; The Office, Love Actually, The Hobbit, Sherlock and now Fargo - very diverse imo.
Have to say loved the film, but have not enjoyed this first episode. Agree MF and BBT and other actors played very well and the story follows the orignal plot well but it was just tooooooo sloooooow.
