Finding Software To Delete......
I somehow have a software programme called ''Advertising Solutions'' on my pc, which activates deals of the day pop ups when I go on Amazon or any other retail websites, which is a nuisance.
When I click on their pop up for info, it leads me to there website it tells me to delete from my software on my pc, but cant find where to look.
Looked on programmes to delete on control panel, and cant see it there!
Any help please.

Go through the above process again to check whether something nasty on your computer has changed the proxy setting back again. (I'm hoping not, because that would mean that there's still some malware on your computer). Then go to Tools > Add-ons > Extensions to see if there's anything there that shouldn't be. If there is, remove it. If you find nothing...

In the list of installed programs, click on the 'Installed on' column heading to put the list into date order. You might then spot one or more recently-installed programs that you know you didn't deliberately install. Get rid of anything that you find.
Then download, install and run the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

Notes:
1. When installing, take care to deselect the option to take a free trial of the (paid-for) 'PRO' version.
2. When running it, use the 'quick scan' option.
3. Don't be surprised if that scan still takes over half an hour to run.
4. When the scan comes to an end, click the button to show the results. Ensure that there's a tick against everything listed and then click the button to remove what's been found.

I am using my desktop comp, because of the probs below!
Did what you said Buenchico, but when I restarted my laptop. and clicked on a programme, I'm just getting a notice that says '' The proxy servers are refusing connections '' '' Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connection''.

If you find nothing unwanted under 'Extensions' (or you do, but the problems still persist), note down the names of the extensions that you want to keep (because you'll need to reinstall them shortly). Then go to Help > Troubleshooting Information and click on the 'Reset Firefox' button. That should hopefully fix the problem. Then go to Tools > Add-ons > Extensions again and use the search box (at the top right) to look for the extensions you want back again, so that you can reinstall them.

The proxy setting will revert back if Buenchico's instructions at 11.30 above are Not followed to the letter. Having set 'No proxy' it is important to click 'OK' on the 'Settings' page and then having closed that page, to click the 'OK' which is on the 'Options' page which then appears. Failing to click both of the 'OKs' will put you back to the point from which you started.
