Perth, I think. He was a wine and spirits merchant there, and pioneered the sale of whisky in bottles to the public. Later, he opened a distillery of his own at Aberfeldy. This is assuming that you don't mean Sir James Dewar, scientist and inventor, inter alia, of the vacum flask!
