Why Is Somalia Calling Me?

in the last few days I keep missing calls on my mobile from an 00252 number. i looked it up today, and it seems like someone in Somalia is calling me. Is this a scam? They rang twice at 05.30am Sunday morning, cheeky beggars. If I answer the call, is it likely to cost me anything? I would like to keep them waiting on hold for pestering me, but dont want it to cost me anything!

Since your phone isn't 'roaming' when it receives calls from overseas (while you're still in the UK) you won't be charged to accept the call.

It's probably advertising or something similar but it might be a call telling you that your long-lost, and very rich, great uncle has just passed away in Somalia, leaving all his wealth to you ;-)

Buenchico - dont forget that they will also need your bank account details so that they can transfer the money into your account

If it rings again, could even just be someone who has been given the wrong mobile number. Could you put a voicemail on which, without giving name details and such, would hopefully make it clear to a mis-dialler that you aren't not who they are trying to call in the early hours of a weekend morning.

if your home and answer the call just tell same as I do to p**s off, they understand that phrase in any language, its a scam got to be.
