Orange Mobile Handsets

My grandparents both have orange handsets on PAYG and it costs them loads in top ups 35p/min for calls and 12p per text. I want to get them onto giff gaff so they can get a £10 bundle each month which would save them a lot of money. My question is can I put a giff gaff SIM card straight into an orange phone or won't it recognise it? Thanks

Orange...or EE as it is now called...offers bundles on payg fones.
You'd have to have the fones unlocked in order to put in another providers sim.

Yes. But getting them unlocked can be a pain.

If your Grandparents don't use their phones very much then ASDA, who are now with EE, do PAYG Sim cards where calls are 8P per min and texts are 4P.
They also do various bundles which last for 30 days.

Probably but it depends upon your phone and present supplier
You can get a quick quote for unlocking your phone from some stalls in the market or shopping centre. Try one, they might do it for a fiver???

Incidentally, if Orange are now with EE then ask at the phone desk in an ASDA store if EE (new Asda provider) will now accept both Orange and the old Asda Sim cards? I've found the Asda Phone counters quite helpful during the change over.

I find that Tesco is very good. Get a sim card from them & pop it into an unlocked mobile & use PAYG. Very reasonable.
