No don1 - you have every right to comment, since I have done the same to you (in jest) only last week! However I think you'll find that it is correct to have torpid and mortify, but torpefy is the correct spelling - strange though it may appear.

Touche don1. I used a battered version of the Chambers which listed torpefy but not torpify! My spelling isn't always 100%, so I do tend to check if I am not sure!
