First Swallow

Finally saw my first swallow yesterday in Dorset. That's at least a week later than last year. Always gives me a thrill.

There's a website for Derbyshire bird sightings and swallows have been in the area for weeks but I haven't seen any yet, we tend to have house martins and swifts in my neighbourhood...expecting to spot the first ones any day now.

The swifts arrived on Monday evening, right on time!

How lovely Robinia, I'm a bit too rural to get swifts but when they fly screaming through the towns it's such a wonderful summery sound that reminds me of holidays abroad.
