Made a Fish Pie earlier.... sliced long runner beans, peas and roasted cherry toms to go with it.

Got distracted with writing cheques, inc pressies for b-days, a congrats card to my step-niece and her hubbie on their babe, making my mater a step-granny for the first time, problems for them as he was recently hit by a passing car on his bike, a specialist copper that he is, child protection.

Anyway the mater going on about who is who and then the value of the house (yawn), I break it to go and start the prep, plates out of the Aga, beans and peas in for 3 mins and, yo, what have I done, completely forgotten to put the pie in the oven. So dinner is now 8.00pm.

Where's the wine?

For the 10, add some lobster, maybe some yellow beetroot to accompany the beans, the peas into a mousse...but that's fancy and for a mid week supper, OTT!
I wouldn't worry dt, just watching the Great British Menu (somebody has to make a working Enigma machine from spotted dick for dessert, please, please) and a chef forgot the entire sous faffing vide crab claw element of the fish course - it's all relative ;)
Alas my cuisine is fairly pleb compared with yours but one thing we have in common. Mine is a decent copita of Fino to get started. Madame always praises the results but has little option as she no longer cooks.
fine style, seadogg!
