Does anyone know this heading phrase on a will dated 1691? Does BLEUFS mean BELIEFS? Thank You

The word 'belief' has had many different recorded spellings over the thousand years or so that it has existed in English. None of them appears to have been 'bleuf', but that is of no great significance, given that individuals spelt things pretty well how they imagined they should be spelt in former centuries. Certainly, in the sentence the word appears in above, ''beliefs' would seem to be a perfectly reasonable interpretation.

Imagine the word being pronounced as two syllables, ble-ufs, then listen to someone from the north east of England saying beliefs. It may then begin to make sense. As quizmonster says, spelling was what the hearer heard.
